Opening up and starting a podcast was liberating for Savannah James.

This year, Savannah James and her close friend April McDaniel started a podcast, despite Savannah's initial nervousness.

Throughout most of her time in the public eye, James was known as the wife of NBA star LeBron James and mother to their three children, including their son Bronny James, who was recently drafted into the NBA.

James tells Make It that he was often perceived as very quiet and that people would frequently ask if he talked, as if he didn't have a voice.

"Although I was anxious, I was excited to reveal a side of myself that many individuals had not witnessed."

James and McDaniel offer advice on managing complex scenarios on their "Everybody's Crazy" podcast.

"James expressed that he wanted to do something fun with his friend and thought it would be a great idea to take calls and share their perspectives."

McDaniel, the founder of Crown + Conquer, took a significant step in starting her podcast, despite considering herself a private person.

According to McDaniel, the podcast was not as intentional as people believed, and it happened accidentally in many ways.

"I believe the true beauty of the experience was our ability to reveal our authentic selves. People may not understand that Savannah and I do not concern ourselves with others' opinions."

James felt comfortable starting the podcast because she embraced her comfort with being scrutinized.

"James stated, "I am unconcerned with how I am being judged because this is my true self," with a hint of nervousness but also a sense of liberation."

James and McDaniel have also started Let It Break, a community for women to share resources for personal development and create a safe space for growth.

James' latest venture is another step in her personal journey to pursue her individual desires beyond her family's public image.

In order to feel comfortable with the change, she needed to "open up more about topics unrelated to my husband or children."

"It was all about me. It was really liberating and really exciting," she says. "Initially, it brought about nerves, but it ultimately proved to be really, really special."
