Fourteen colleges provide bachelor's degrees in AI, with only one Ivy League institution among them.
The AI industry shows no signs of slowing down.
Industry leaders, including Bill Gates and Mark Cuban, have endorsed AI technology and its potential to transform the global economy. Similarly, colleges and universities are incorporating AI education into their curricula to prepare the next generation of professionals to utilize and advance these tools in various industries and aspects of life.
In 2018, Carnegie Mellon University introduced the nation's first Bachelor of Science degree in artificial intelligence.
The demand for specialists in artificial intelligence has never been greater, despite their being in shorter supply, as Andrew Moore, former dean of the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon, stated in a press release.
Over a dozen schools across the country have created their own AI degree programs, including the University of Pennsylvania, which was the first Ivy League school to offer an AI-centric degree in 2024.
At least 14 colleges and universities provide bachelor of science degrees in AI, as identified by CNBC Make It.
