On Friday, Donald Trump, the president-elect, made public his selections for key positions on his National Economic Council.

The council advises the President on U.S. and global economic policy.

Three days before Trump's inauguration, the appointments are scheduled.

Trump announced the exceptional team who will serve on the White House National Economic Council (NEC) under Kevin Hassett, a renowned economist.

Trump declared that he would bring about a revival of American wealth and advancement by prioritizing the interests of the country's citizens, families, and businesses.

The appointees are:

  • Robin Colwell served as the deputy assistant to the president for economic policy and deputy director of the NEC, previously holding the position of principal at BGR Group and special assistant to the president for technology, telecom and cybersecurity policy during Trump's first term.
  • Nels Nordquist served as the deputy assistant to the president for economic policy and the deputy director of the NEC for international economics. Prior to this, he was the staff director for the Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance and International Financial Institutions of the House Financial Services Committee.
  • Paige Willey was previously a member of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's executive leadership team and is currently the deputy assistant to the president for economic policy and deputy director of the NEC.
  • As special assistant to the president for economic policy, Baasch focused on technology, telecom, and cybersecurity. Prior to this role, Baasch served as Texas associate deputy attorney general, overseeing the office's civil enforcement divisions.
  • As special assistant to the president for international economic relations, Emory Cox has previously served as senior economic advisor to Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala.
  • Cale Clingenpeel was appointed as the president's special assistant for economic policy, with a focus on trade, immigration, and labor. Prior to this role, he served as the chief economist at Greenmantle, a macroeconomic and geopolitical advisory firm.
  • Andrew Lyon served as special assistant to the president for economic policy, with a primary focus on tax policy. He previously held positions as deputy assistant secretary under President George W. Bush and senior staff economist at the Council of Economic Advisers under President George H. W. Bush.
  • As a special assistant to the president for economic policy, Jeff Wrase focused on financial regulation and banking. Prior to his current role, he served as chief economist on several congressional committees, including the Joint Economic Committee, the House and Senate Budget Committees, and the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.
  • Joel Zinberg, a former associate clinical professor of surgery at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York, served as a senior economist and general counsel at the White House Council of Economic Advisers in the first Trump administration. He also focused on health care and deregulation as a special assistant to the president for economic policy.
