On Friday, Donald Trump, the president-elect, had a phone conversation with Xi Jinping, the Chinese president, about various topics including TikTok, fentanyl, and trade.
Trump stated in a Truth Social post that the call was highly beneficial for both China and the U.S.A.
The president-elect, who will be sworn into office on Monday, stated that he expects us to solve many problems together, starting immediately.
Trump wrote: "We talked about balancing various topics, including Trade, Fentanyl, and TikTok. President Xi and I are committed to making the World safer and more peaceful."
According to Reuters, CCTV reported that after the call, Xi and Trump expressed a shared desire for advancements in U.S.-China relations.
As the Supreme Court prepares to rule on whether to allow TikTok in the U.S., Trump discussed the app with Xi.
