Trump Media stock surges 100% from its recent low as the DJT rally gains momentum on active trading.
- The price of Trump Media shares increased, continuing a trend that has partially offset the significant decline in value experienced during a recent week-long market downturn.
- The stock price of DJT surpassed its recent intraday trading value by more than double.
- Some polling and other indicators suggested that allies of majority-owner Donald Trump viewed the surge as positive signs.
The price of Truth Social shares increased by up to 19% on Thursday morning, continuing the upward trend of a rally that has partially recouped the losses sustained during a recent weekslong decline.
The stock price of DJT increased to $24 per share after the market opened, which is more than double the $11.75 price it reached during its lowest intraday trade two weeks ago.
Despite a lack of positive news about the company, the surge occurred around the time of recent presidential election polls and other indicators that allies of former President Donald Trump viewed as positive signs.
The company Trump Media is being bought and sold in large part by Trump fans, who see investing in it as a way to support him and bet on his chances of winning the presidency.
In an interview with CNBC, Anne Stevenson-Yang, founder and research director of short seller J Capital Research, stated that the issue has no connection to fundamentals.
She stated that it was a bet on Trump.
In less than an hour after markets opened, the latest jump in Trump Media's stock price occurred during a heavy trading session that had already exceeded its 30-day average volume of approximately 15.1 million shares.
By 11:30 a.m. ET, over 27 million Trump Media shares had been traded.
Trump Media's gains propelled it to its fifth positive day in six and its best week since late March, following its merger with a blank-check firm.
The recent surge signifies the conclusion of a months-long decline that had reduced Trump Media's worth by over 80% from its post-merger peaks.
Despite reaching an intraday high of $79.38 per share during its Nasdaq debut, the stock price remained below that amount as of Thursday.
