During her acceptance speech for the Democratic presidential nomination in Chicago on Thursday night, Vice President Kamala Harris stated that Donald Trump's goal is to become an autocrat.

Harris stated that she would not form a close relationship with leaders like Kim Jong-Un, who support Trump.

The vice president stated that they knew the individual was susceptible to being influenced through praise and gifts.

Harris stated that Trump won't hold autocrats accountable because he desires to be an autocrat.

"I will always remain steadfast in protecting America's safety and values as President."

Trump responded to Harris' criticism in a social media post shortly after she made her remarks.

Trump wrote on Truth Social: "The Tyrants are mocking her, she's powerless and ineffective, and for three and a half years she has only helped them become stronger, wealthier, and more powerful!"

Trump's admiration for dictators and autocrats hostile to U.S. interests was criticized sharply by Harris, who built on a theme established earlier in the night.

On Thursday, the convention's speaker list featured six former American military and intelligence personnel. They successively depicted Trump as a danger to national security and portrayed Harris as a devoted guardian of America's values.

Rep. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, the Democratic nominee for a Senate seat from that state this fall, stated that she wants to discuss national security tonight.

Slotkin, a former Central Intelligence Agency analyst who worked alongside the military during three tours in Iraq, stated that the choice in November is stark: America retreating from the world, or leading the world. Trump wants to take us backwards.

"He views dictators favorably, considers our allies as enemies, and our foes as allies."

She urged the crowd not to give an inch to those who claim to be patriots but disrespect the freedoms the flag represents, receiving thunderous applause.

As an astronaut and former U.S. Navy fighter pilot, Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., stated that Trump missed his intelligence briefings while serving as president.

""If we allow Trump to become commander-in-chief again, we will be the ones who are suckers," Kelly stated."

Kelly stated that the dangers the US confronts are too grave to allow Trump another term in office, as he is "laughed at by the world."

A warning was issued by Leon Panetta, who was previously the secretary of defense and director of the CIA.

""We tried that in the 1930s. It was foolish and dangerous then. It is foolish and dangerous now," he said."

Reagan, a former Republican president, stated that isolationism is not a suitable response to oppressive governments.

Unlike Reagan, Trump tells tyrants like Putin they can do "whatever they want."

Panetta stated that Donald Trump lacks comprehension of the world and the military's service and sacrifice.

"Our fallen veterans are not suckers or losers; they are heroes."
