Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, is promoting the Trump Organization's newly rebranded crypto platform, now called "World Liberty Financial," which was previously known as "The DeFiant Ones."

The former president posted a video on X with a voiceover, stating his plan to make the US the global leader in cryptocurrency. He emphasized that he would not allow anyone to stifle the country's business.

CNBC reported that Trump did not specify who he meant by "they" in his announcement, and a Trump campaign spokesperson did not immediately respond to questions about the matter.

Trump tagged a verified X account called "World Liberty Fi," or WLFI, in his post. The account has over 20,000 followers and several posts that started on Aug. 22.

The project also includes the participation of Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

Eric announced the launch of @WorldLibertyFi on Wednesday, marking a new era in finance.

The World Liberty Financial Telegram channel, which is linked to the crypto project, had over 52,000 subscribers by Thursday morning and continues to grow.

A day after Trump launched a new round of his NFT trading cards, an announcement was made.

The NFTs are a private venture of the Trump family in the digital currency industry, and are not affiliated with Trump's presidential campaign.

The campaign and private businesses align in promoting NFTs and crypto platform as part of Trump's political brand and targeting his supporters.

Trump sees private crypto enterprises as a way to attract both crypto voters and donors, as well as generate income.

The Republican presidential candidate has been emphasizing their support for the cryptocurrency industry, making increasingly optimistic statements about it.

The crypto voting bloc has made donations and endorsements, with the latest tally from the Trump camp showing a $25 million crypto-related raise. However, CNBC has not been able to verify this figure independently.

Few details about World Liberty

The specifics of the World Liberty Financial platform were unclear as of Thursday, as well as whether the project was operational.

Two of Trump's sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., have given differing descriptions of the digital bank's offerings to its users.

Recently, Trump's eldest son stated that the family was working on creating a crypto platform that would compete with the traditional banking system.

Donald Trump Jr. stated in an interview on Locals that he believes there has been a significant amount of inequality in the financial system, as only certain individuals have access to financing. As a result, the concept of decentralized finance is particularly appealing to him, given his experience with being "debanked."

Meanwhile, Eric informed the New York Post that the project entailed digital real estate, which could refer to tokenizing real-world assets or selling digitized versions of assets in the metaverse.

Last week, the former president shared details about the project on Truth Social, emphasizing the need to "stand united" through it.

Trump wrote that for too long, the average American has been under pressure from big banks and financial elites.
