On Saturday, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security announced that investigations into reported drone sightings in New Jersey have revealed that many of the sightings were actually manned aircraft mistakenly identified as drones.

No evidence of illegal activity or malicious acts by spotted drones or foreign involvement offshore has been found by investigations or the United States Coast Guard.

A DHS official stated that at present, there is no evidence to suggest any criminal activity, national security threat, public safety risk, or malicious foreign involvement in the drones.
