The U.S. ambassador to the EU, Mark Gitenstein, stated that China is intentionally manipulating markets through an overflow of inexpensive products.

Gitenstein stated on Tuesday to CNBC's Silvia Amaro that China was intentionally targeting economic sectors in both Europe and the United States through a deliberate effort.

The Biden administration announced a hike in tariff rates on $18 billion worth of Chinese imports, including increasing tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles from 25% to 100%, and the ambassador's comments came in response to this announcement.
