The police suspect that the individual being searched for in relation to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson departed New York City following the crime, possibly on a bus.
The NYPD's top brass informed CNN that the surveillance footage of the suspect in Wednesday's shooting of Thompson showed them taking a cab from Manhattan's Upper West Side to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Washington Heights, which is near the George Washington Bridge.
According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, the man entered the bus terminal.
"According to Kenny, the buses in question are interstate buses, which leads us to believe that he may have left New York City."
The man might have boarded which bus is being investigated by the police, according to Kenny.
"We have footage of him entering the Port Authority Bus Terminal but lack video of him exiting. As a result, we assume he might have boarded a bus," Kenny stated.
The terminal also has shuttle vans that transport passengers across the GWB on the opposite side of the Hudson River to Fort Lee, New Jersey and beyond.
