In the closely watched Presidential Debate on Tuesday night, Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, and Kamala Harris, the Democratic rival, frequently disagreed on issues related to Russia, Putin, and the war in Ukraine.

Trump, who was previously the U.S. president, was told by Harris that Putin would eat him for lunch and that, if Trump were to become president again, Putin would be sitting in Kyiv right now.

Trump was accused by her of being prepared to abandon Ukraine after two and a half years of conflict and significant military funding from the U.S.

During the ABC News Presidential Debate, Harris stated that our European and NATO allies are grateful that you are no longer president and recognize the significance of NATO, the world's greatest military alliance.

"We have ensured Zelenskyy and the Ukrainians' ability to fight for their independence, preventing Putin from taking control of Kyiv and expanding his influence over Europe, as he is a dictator who would consume anyone who stands in his way."

Trump refuted Harris' statement that the war would not have occurred if he had been president in 2022, asserting that Putin would still be in Moscow and would not have lost 300,000 men and women in the conflict.

The number of Russian soldiers killed or wounded in the war is estimated to be around 315,000, according to U.S. intelligence.

Officials in Kyiv are worried that Trump's repeated suggestion of cutting military funding for Ukraine could lead to an immediate end to the conflict, and that they may have to cede occupied territory to Russia as part of a deal.

On Tuesday night, Trump was questioned about whether he wanted Ukraine to win the war or if it was in the U.S.' best interest for Kyiv to achieve victory. He replied that he wanted the war to end to save lives and that he would negotiate a deal with Russia. Previously, he had stated that he could end the war within 24 hours if he was president, but he did not specify how he would accomplish this.

On Tuesday, he once again failed to disclose how a deal would be reached or if it would entail Ukraine surrendering occupied land to Russia, a concession that Kyiv has previously rejected.

It is in the U.S.' best interest to end this war and move on. Therefore, we should negotiate a deal to stop the destruction of human lives.

Trump stated that he wants the war to end and save the lives of people who are being killed in large numbers. He believes that the numbers being reported are inaccurate and that the actual situation is much worse.

Harris stated that she believed the reason Trump claimed the war would end in 24 hours was because he would surrender, which is not the American way.

The $60 billion aid package for Ukraine was agreed in spring after months of gridlock between Democrats and Republicans over military funding for Ukraine, a contentious issue that caused the presidential nominees to clash.

Since Russia launched its "premeditated, unprovoked, and brutal full-scale invasion of Ukraine" on Feb. 2022, the U.S. has given more than $55.7 billion in military aid to Ukraine, according to a statement from the U.S. State Dept. last week.

Harris stated on Tuesday that Ukraine's resistance to Russia's invasion was due to the military funding and support from the U.S. and its allies. He emphasized that because of the air defense, ammunition, artillery, javelins, and Abrams tanks provided, Ukraine remains an independent and free country.

Trump reiterated his stance that the US should not pay more than its European partners to support Ukraine or contribute to NATO, as Europe has benefited more from the alliance's success.

Trump stated that Europe should be forced to equalize, and he wants to settle the war. He knows Zelenskyy and Putin well and has a good relationship with them.

On Wednesday, Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, characterized the Trump-Harris debate as a show.

According to Tass, the official told Sputnik Radio that he was honest when he said he didn't understand why the debate was considered big news.

"Is it noteworthy that we are witnessing another show by individuals who seem to have no accountability for their words?" she inquired rhetorically.

Ukraine has remained silent on the Harris-Trump debate and has taken care to stay neutral, fearing alienation from either political camp and the potential future president.

On Wednesday, the Kremlin stated that it disapproved of the way Vladimir Putin's name was mentioned in the debate and added that "the U.S. as a whole, regardless of the political party, maintains a hostile and unfavorable stance towards our country."

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, stated that Putin's name is used as a tool in the internal political struggle in the U.S. and that they do not like it. He added that they still hope they will leave the president's name alone.

The rest of the matter is a concern for U.S. voters, as it is their responsibility to evaluate their candidates' actions. We, on the other hand, have our own concerns, achievements, and problems to deal with.
