On Tuesday night, Barack Obama stated at the Democratic National Convention that "America is prepared for a fresh start" and "we are ready for President Kamala Harris to lead."

Obama stated that Kamala Harris is prepared for her role as vice president, having succeeded former President Donald Trump, who was her Republican opponent, in the White House.

Obama criticized Trump while comparing him to Harris after leaving office after two terms.

Obama stated that Trump, a 78-year-old billionaire, has been whining about his problems since he announced his presidential candidacy in 2015 at Trump Tower in New York.

"Obama joked about the childish nicknames, wild conspiracy theories, and fixation on crowd size, eliciting laughter from the Chicago convention audience."

Obama contended that Kamala Harris would prioritize solving the problems of others rather than her own.

Obama stated that Kamala Harris is prepared for her role as Vice President, having spent her life advocating for marginalized communities.

As a prosecutor in California, Harris defended children who had been sexually abused.

"As the Attorney General of the largest state in the country, she battled big banks and for-profit colleges, securing billions of dollars for the people they had defrauded," he stated. "Following the home mortgage crisis, she pressured my administration and me to ensure that homeowners received a fair settlement."

Obama also praised Harris' running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

"Obama remarked, "I love this guy," before adding, "You can tell those flannel shirts he wears haven't been bought from a consultant, they're from his closet, and they've been through some wear and tear.""
