New York disbars former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani following criminal indictments.

On Tuesday, the New York law license of Rudy Giuliani was revoked due to accusations that he aided former President Donald Trump's unsuccessful attempt to challenge the 2020 election results.

Giuliani's law license remains under review in Washington, D.C.

The disciplinary charges against the lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign were based on allegations that he made false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers, and the public in connection with Trump's failed reelection bid in 2020, according to attorneys for the New York appeals court that issued the ruling.

Giuliani was first admitted to practice law in New York in June 1969.

Barry Kamins, Giuliani's lawyer, stated to NBC News that Mr. Giuliani is evidently unhappy with the verdict and they are considering their legal options.

The appeals court in New York cited numerous false statements made by Giuliani to attempt to convince courts to overturn the 2020 election results.

In the court filing, the court cited several examples of election fraud claims made by Giuliani, including allegations of widespread fraud in Philadelphia, smuggled ballots from Long Island, N.Y., non-U.S. citizens voting in Arizona, and manipulated Dominion Voting Systems machines in Georgia.

Legal battles have surrounded the former New York City mayor over numerous statements.

At his birthday party in May, the ex-Trump lawyer received criminal indictment papers for charges related to an unsuccessful attempt to overturn the 2020 election in Arizona.

In December, Giuliani was directed to pay $148 million to two Georgia election workers for defamation. Giuliani had made false statements about the election workers committing ballot fraud, which was part of his effort to help Trump overturn the 2020 election results.

Soon after that verdict, Giuliani filed for bankruptcy protection.
