  • Miriam Adelson, a prominent Republican donor, could potentially have unlimited funds to contribute to Donald Trump's campaign.
  • The Adelsons donated nearly $90 million to a pro-Trump PAC in 2020.
  • Miriam Adelson could be Trump's biggest financial booster by Election Day.

Miriam Adelson, a billionaire Republican donor, seems to have an open-ended approach to funding former President Donald Trump's efforts to return to the White House.

According to Abboud and a source with direct knowledge, Adelson's political aide Andy Abboud stated at a campaign event at Trump's golf club in Bedminster, N.J. on Thursday that he would provide whatever Trump needs from Adelson in support, as instructed by his boss.

In this story, two individuals were granted anonymity to discuss confidential matters openly.

"We will do whatever it takes for him to win," Abboud confirmed in a phone interview with CNBC on Friday, echoing his earlier comments at the event. "In Adelson's mind and the minds of those running the political action committee, Preserve America, we will do whatever it takes for him to win."

Adelson's financial support for Trump may not be unlimited, and he did not specify a definite amount for how much he would contribute towards Trump's campaign.

The Preserve America super PAC, which Adelson is supporting, intends to spend more than $100 million in the upcoming election, as stated by David Carney, a senior advisor to the committee, in a CNBC interview. Adelson has already contributed $5 million to the PAC, according to FEC records.

The super PAC has reserved over $40 million worth of television ads to oppose Vice President Kamala Harris and support former President Trump, with plans to spend roughly $60 million by Labor Day.

In Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, the PAC's advertisements are being shown.

At the gathering in New Jersey, Adelson publicly supported Trump and urged Jewish voters to choose him over Harris.

"Adelson, who received the Medal of Freedom from Trump in 2018, stated that President Trump deserves the full support of the entire Jewish people. He added that anyone who cares about Israel's security and prosperity should pledge to him that the White House will be his again come January."

Adelson's commitment to supporting Trump over Harris could make her a vital donor to the former president by the end of the 2024 election cycle, as acknowledged by Abboud.

Miriam Adelson, the widow of the late casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, has a net worth of over $28 billion and owns over half of Las Vegas Sands, the casino giant founded by her late husband.

Since the 2016 election, both Miriam and Sheldon Adelson have been significant financiers of the Trump campaign, with the two of them being the top donors during the 2020 election, contributing a combined total of $200 million to Republicans, with around $90 million directed to Preserve America, according to data from OpenSecrets.

According to FEC records, the PAC spent most of its $105 million in opposition to then-candidate Biden.

The Adelsons donated after gaining access to Trump and witnessing policy wins under his administration, including the relocation of the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Despite a New York Times report stating that Adelson received angry text messages from a Trump aide regarding the Preserve America runners, there has been no indication that Adelson will cease attending Trump events.
