Milton's path does not include Trump's Mar-a-Lago and golf resorts, but Truth Social's offices are at risk.
- Hurricane Milton is not expected to hit Donald Trump's prominent Florida properties, such as Mar-a-Lago Club and golf resorts.
- The projected sight line of the storm directly includes the Sarasota offices of Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social.
- Milton's imminent arrival caused the Univision Town Hall with Trump to be rescheduled from Tuesday in Miami to next Wednesday.
The Category 5 storm, Hurricane Milton, is not expected to hit the former President Donald Trump's marquee Florida properties, including his Mar-a-Lago Club and various golf resorts, which lie outside the anticipated path on the Gulf Coast.
The projected sight line of the storm directly includes the Sarasota offices of Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social.
The Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, and the Trump National Doral Miami are all situated in different counties.
Although both areas are currently not included in the National Weather Service's forecast cone for Milton, this projection may change in the near future.
Despite the declaration of a local state of emergency in both counties, which are also under flood watch, officials have advised residents to prepare for potential flooding by developing evacuation plans and keeping disaster kits ready.
The Gulf Coast is where Milton is expected to make landfall on late Wednesday, and the Truth Social offices are located in that area.
A publicly traded company mainly operating the Truth Social platform, has Trump as its largest shareholder.
The company's most recent disclosure, filed Oct. 4, revealed its principal executive offices as being located in Sarasota and listed an area telephone number.
The Sarasota office property is not owned by Trump Media, and the company did not respond to CNBC's questions about the number of employees who work from the office and how often they do so.
In the Gulf of Mexico, Milton is intensifying with wind speeds of 175 miles per hour and is predicted to hit Florida on Wednesday.
""Keith Turi, the Federal Emergency Management Agency's acting director of response and recovery, stated in a call with reporters on Monday that time is running out and only two days remain before landfall," said the acting director."
Despite the safety of Trump's Florida properties, the storm has affected some of his campaign plans.
The Republican presidential nominee had planned to hold a town hall with Univision in Miami on Tuesday. However, due to the escalation of the situation, the campaign rescheduled the taping for next Wednesday.
On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris will hold a separate Univision town hall in Nevada, while Trump's Democratic opponent is set to tape his own.
On Wednesday, Hurricane Helene, a Category 4 storm that devastated Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee, will bring Milton to the southeastern United States.
