Luigi Mangione has relinquished his option to challenge extradition to New York, where he is accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on Dec. 4.
At a hearing in a Pennsylvania courtroom on Thursday morning, Mangione agreed to be escorted by authorities to New York.
He was flown to New York on a plane from Altoona.
UnitedHealth Group's CEO, Thompson, was fatally shot by Mangione, 26, as he entered the Hilton hotel in midtown Manhattan for an investor day.
Five days after being arrested in Altoona, he was reported as a suspicious person in a McDonald's.
A University of Pennsylvania graduate was indicted in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday for one count of first-degree murder in furtherance of terrorism and two counts of second-degree murder, one of which is charged as killing as an act of terrorism.
He was also charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
