On Tuesday, Donald Trump launched a promotion of expensive Bibles in collaboration with country music artist Lee Greenwood, known for his hit song "God Bless the U.S.A.", which is frequently played at Trump's political events.
Trump declared in a video on Truth Social that all Americans should have a Bible at home, and he proudly stated that he possesses many.
"It's my favorite book and it's also popular among many people," he said.
"Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country, and I truly believe that we need to bring them back," he said. "It's one of the biggest problems we have, that's why our country's going haywire, we've lost religion in our country."
The Bible, a widely popular Christian holy text, is the world's best-selling book, and churches often give them away for free. Additionally, it is accessible to read for free on numerous websites, apps, hotel rooms, and other locations.
The "God Bless the U.S.A. Bible" is priced at $59.99, but does not include shipping and additional charges.
A range of extra features not typically included in run-of-the-mill Bibles are available for that money.
According to the website, the Trump-Greenwood Bible, a King James translation, contains a handwritten copy of the chorus to the hit song "Greenwood" by Trump.
The site mentions the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Bible endorsed by either Trump or Greenwood is the only one inspired by America's most recognized patriotic anthem, "God Bless The USA."
Jesus said, 'Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.'
The amount of money Trump and Greenwood would gain from the promotion was not immediately apparent.
The partnership comes at an especially turbulent moment for Trump's finances.
Recently, the presumptive Republican nominee's net worth has increased by billions of dollars after a successful merger that made his media company publicly trade on the NASDAQ.
He has only days to come up with $175 million for an appeal bond to halt the state of New York from enforcing a $454 million civil fraud judgment against him, but he won't be able to cash in on his stake in that company for months.
The former president is also facing other significant civil judgments, including a federal jury verdict that requires him to pay $83.3 million for defaming writer E. Jean Carroll, who accused him of raping her years ago.
Trump's fundraising efforts are lagging behind Biden's campaign, prompting Trump to consider investing his own money into his presidential bid.
The website selling Trump-endorsed Bibles states that they will not use any of their earnings to support the Trump campaign.
The site claims to be non-political and unrelated to any political campaign.
"The website GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not affiliated with Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC, or any of their respective principals or affiliates."
CIC Ventures has granted permission for the use of Trump's name, likeness, and image.
Through CIC Ventures, Trump's 2023 financial disclosure reveals that he has earned more than $5 million from speaking engagements.
