Vice President Harris to speak with Democratic donors

On Friday afternoon, Vice President Kamala Harris participated in a call with significant Democratic contributors to discuss pressing, unforeseen requirements. This conference took place as an increasing number of Democratic legislators publicly urged President Joe Biden to abandon his plans to run for reelection.

According to a Biden campaign official, the president's advisers requested that Harris make the call, which was to be joined by Democratic megadonor Reid Hoffman, the billionaire LinkedIn co-founder.

"The call invitation stated, "We remain focused on the critical work that needs to be done to protect our democracy in a rapidly evolving environment with stakes as high as they are this cycle.""

According to a source with direct knowledge of the call, the call started with campaign field organizers presenting the same claims made in a Biden campaign memo on Friday, stating that voters still wanted Biden despite donors and Democrats in office not sharing the same sentiment.

Harris then joined the call, which lasted approximately 40 minutes.

"The vice president stated, according to a second source on the call, that he would begin by sharing a belief he held deeply in his heart. This belief, he believed, was crucial for all to hear and take with them when they left. He urged them to share it with their friends as well. "We will win this election. We will win," the vice president declared confidently."

Joe Biden is the candidate in this election who prioritizes the interests of the American people, as stated by Vice President Kamala Harris.

In the call, Harris largely repeated what she said at a campaign rally in North Carolina on Thursday.

On Friday, the number of Democrats in Congress urging Biden to step aside from the presidential race increased to over 30, with nine House Democrats and one senator making the request.

If Biden were to drop out of the race, many see Harris as the most likely candidate to replace him at the top of the Democratic ticket.

While some Democratic megadonors are urging Biden to withdraw from the race, events featuring Harris are in high demand. Even past donors to the vice president are privately discussing their plans if Biden decides to step aside.

In an email to the New York Times on Friday, major Democratic donor Michael Moritz, a Silicon Valley venture capitalist, stated that Biden should step aside, saying, "Time's up."

On Friday afternoon, Harris visited Tyra Banks' ice cream shop in Washington, D.C. and did not respond to questions from reporters about the call.
