On Thursday morning, a lawyer for Hunter Biden informed a federal judge in Los Angeles that there was no need for jury selection in his criminal tax case as the son of President Joe Biden plans to alter his plea.
In the case against him, Hunter Biden, 54, had previously pleaded not guilty to three felony counts and six misdemeanors related to failing to pay at least $1.4 million in federal taxes from 2016 through 2019.
U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi was informed by defense lawyer Abbe Lowell that there is no need for jury selection as Mr. Biden plans to alter his plea, right before the scheduled start of the process.
In June, Hunter Biden was convicted in a separate case for purchasing a handgun in 2018 while under the influence of crack cocaine.
He is awaiting sentencing in the case tried in U.S. District Court in Delaware.
