In the past month, Kamala Harris has garnered almost half a billion dollars in funds.
  • In the month following President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris' fundraising campaign has amassed almost $500 million, according to NBC News.
  • After Biden ended his campaign against Trump, the sum mirrors Democrats' excitement.

In the month since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his replacement, Harris has raised nearly $500 million for her White House bid, according to NBC News.

According to two sources, the massive windfall includes not only Harris' campaign but also several fundraising entities associated with her election effort.

One source reported that Democrats anticipate the number to increase to approximately $600 million by August's end.

The enthusiasm that arose after Harris became the Democratic nominee for president following Biden's decision to end his campaign against Trump on July 21 is reflected in the sum.

The 81-year-old incumbent's campaign faced challenges after his poor debate performance with Trump in late June, which raised concerns about his fitness to serve another term and led to a significant decline in fundraising.

After Biden's withdrawal, the vice president's political operation raised $310 million in July alone, with more than $200 million of that sum coming in.

At the start of August, the Harris campaign had more cash on hand than Trump's team, with $377 million compared to $327 million.
