- Olivia Troye and Geoff Duncan, both former aides to the Trump White House and ex-Georgia Lt. Gov., advised Republicans to support Vice President Kamala Harris instead of Donald Trump.
- Troye, a former counterterrorism advisor to Vice President Mike Pence in the former president's administration, framed the choice between Harris and Trump in patriotic terms.
- Troye stated, "My fellow Republicans, you are not casting your ballots for a Democrat, but rather for democracy."
On Wednesday, two Republicans who spoke at the Democratic National Convention were a former Trump White House advisor and the former lieutenant governor of Georgia, both of whom urged GOP voters to support Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
Olivia Troye and Geoff Duncan served in their respective administrations as counterterrorism advisors to former presidents. Both framed the choice between Harris and Trump as a test of patriotism.
Duncan stated that he would concentrate on the millions of Republicans and independents who are at home and feeling sick and tired of making excuses for Donald Trump.
Duncan stated that our party is not civil or conservative, but rather chaotic and crazy. He added that the only solution left is to dump Trump.
He stated that it's not necessary to concur with every policy stance of Kamala Harris, as he himself doesn't.
He stated that if someone votes for Kamala Harris in 2024, they are not a Democrat, but rather a patriot.
Duncan was succeeded by Troye, who stated, "Being in Trump's White House was terrifying. However, what keeps me awake at night is the possibility of him returning."
In 2020, Troye left the Trump administration and became a vocal critic of his administration's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
She stated that she witnessed how Donald Trump weakened our intelligence community, military leaders, and, in the end, our democratic process.
"He is once again lying and preparing to weaken the election."
