The Democratic National Convention speakers barely mentioned President Joe Biden during their speeches on Tuesday, despite the convention beginning with an opening night dedicated to thanking him.

On the second day of the convention, speakers shifted their focus from President Biden's accomplishments to Vice President Kamala Harris, the party's nominee.

Obama spoke about Biden for the longest duration among all headliners, totaling two minutes.

In his keynote address, Obama stated that history will remember Joe Biden as a president who defended democracy during a critical time. He added, "I am proud to call him my president, but even prouder to call him my friend."

"Now the torch has been passed," he said.

Michelle Obama, the former first lady, did not mention Biden in her speech, which she delivered before her husband.

During the evening convention, speakers frequently praised the achievements of the Biden-Harris administration when discussing Biden.

On Monday night, Biden gave a nearly 50-minute keynote speech before boarding Air Force One for a flight to Southern California, where he will spend the rest of the week on vacation.
