On Wednesday afternoon, Vice President-elect JD Vance and President Trump issued a joint statement calling for a streamlined bill that doesn't grant Democrats all their demands.
Vance posted a statement saying that Republicans want to support farmers, pay for disaster relief, and set the country up for success in 2025. The only way to do that is with a temporary funding bill without Democrat giveaways, combined with an increase in the debt ceiling.
"Anything other than our country is a betrayal," their statement read.
