Oprah Winfrey and Diane von Furstenberg have intensified their backing for Kamala Harris, stating that any other choice would not be suitable for women.

Winfrey stated on CNBC that women's reproductive rights are a highly contentious issue in the U.S. today, and she believes that Harris is the only candidate who will protect them.

Winfrey believes that Harris should be the president of the United States at this time, given the importance of decency, honor, and respect, particularly for women and their rights.

The fundamental decision is whether to have children and take on the responsibility of bringing them into the world.

Winfrey, who supported Harris at the Democratic National Convention, was joined in a shared interview with von Furstenberg, who also echoed her comments. When asked about the new challenges to women's rights, Winfrey stated that it was "unacceptable."

"I am a baby boomer: We believed we had created freedom and contributed to liberation," von Furstenberg stated. "It's astonishing, it's completely unacceptable," she emphasized.

The issue of abortion rights has been a significant focus during the presidential campaign leading up to the Nov. 5 election.

Like President Biden, Harris has vowed to restore federal abortion rights following the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v Wade in June 2022. Trump, the Republican nominee, has stated that he would leave the issue to individual states, many of which have already enacted abortion bans.

According to a Sept.10 reading from FiveThirtyEight, Harris is currently leading Trump by 2.7 points. However, this lead has slightly narrowed after her addition to the presidential ballot.

The arrival of Harris has brought optimism to the race and offered a glimmer of light for women's rights, according to von Furstenberg.

"Suddenly, this happened and everyone became depressed," she said.

""The light at the end always pushes the darkness away," she said separately."

Winfrey, who has championed self-empowerment, was even more optimistic about Harris' prospects, stating that she embodies "what the American Dream can be."

"Becoming president of the United States means anything is possible in the world," Kamala Harris stated.
