China desires France to maintain its part in steady Sino-European relations, according to the foreign minister.
Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, stated that China hopes France will continue to play a constructive role in developing healthy and stable Sino-European relations by increasing mutual trust and aligning interests.
On Tuesday, the minister met with French President Emmanuel Macron and stated that China aims to collaborate as a stabilizing force globally, as per a foreign ministry statement released on Wednesday.
Wang stated that we are ready to collaborate with France to preserve our initial goals, remain concentrated, and enhance our partnership.
Wang stated that China hopes France will establish a fair and just business environment for Chinese companies and offer "positive, stable, and long-term expectations."
Official news agency Xinhua reported that in a separate meeting between Wang and the French president's foreign affairs adviser, the two sides had in-depth communication on issues related to peace and security, and agreed that "multi-polarization is indispensable for peace and stability."
Both countries will continue to enhance strategic coordination and cooperate further in areas such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, agricultural and food products, clean energy, nuclear energy research and development, as stated by Xinhua.
The meeting discussed increasing the frequency of direct flights between China and France.
