Biden campaign announces $127 million in June fundraising, surpassing $30 million since the debate.
  • In June, millions of dollars flowed into President Biden's campaign fundraising efforts, boosting his total.
  • The president appears to have retained the support of those who typically donate smaller amounts of money, based on the fundraising total.

In an email, President Joe Biden's campaign revealed that they raised $127 million in June, including $30 million since their poor debate with Donald Trump on Thursday.

The Biden campaign raised funds for Team Biden-Harris, which includes the Biden campaign, joint fundraising committees, the Democratic National Committee, and state parties across the country.

Despite wealthy Democratic donors and fundraisers raising concerns about the president's sluggish debate performance, the high fundraising total indicates that those who frequently contribute smaller amounts of money remain loyal to the president.

Nearly two-thirds of June's raise came from grassroots donors, and over $30 million of the $38 million raised in the final days of the month came from grassroots donations. Additionally, the campaign's political operation entered the third quarter with $240 million in funds.

Despite Biden's efforts to calm their nerves, criticism from party officials, including some Democrats in Congress, has not decreased.

In an interview for a local television station, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I. stated that he was horrified, like many people, by the debate on Monday.

Whitehouse stated that people want assurance that the campaign is prepared to succeed and that the president and his team are being truthful about his health condition, emphasizing that the situation was unusual and not typical of his current state.

On Sunday, Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., stated in an interview with MSNBC that Biden's debate performance was a significant issue, and there are ongoing discussions among Democrats about what transpired in Atlanta on Thursday.

Raskin stated that the situation is challenging for everyone due to the differences in opinions, but there are sincere and thorough discussions taking place at every level of the party because it is a political organization.

If Biden decides not to run for reelection, the party will rally behind another candidate.

"Regardless of President Biden's decision, our party will remain unified and require him to be at the center of our deliberations and campaign. As such, he will be the keynote speaker at our convention and the figure we rally around to advance our goals and defeat authoritarianism and reaction in the country."

The president has no plans to withdraw from the race, according to his team.
