At least 7 people are killed in Russian drone strike on Ukraine's 2nd largest city, Kharkiv.

At least seven people, including three children, were killed in a Russian drone strike on Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, according to Kharkiv region governor Oleh Syniehubov, who reported the incident on Saturday.

In the Nemyshlyan district of the city, 15 private houses were burned down after a massive fire was caused by the Iranian-made Shahed drone hitting civilian infrastructure.

By Saturday morning, emergency workers had contained the blaze and more than 50 people had been evacuated, as stated by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

The Ukrainian air force reported that 23 out of 31 Iranian Shahed drones launched by Russia overnight were destroyed. The drones targeted primarily the northeastern Kharkiv region and the southern province of Odesa, according to the statement.

Overnight drone attacks in Odesa injured four people, as stated by regional governor Oleh Kiper.

Odesa, the port city, was the target of the first wave of attacks, which resulted in the shooting down of all nine drones. However, the debris from the drones caused damage to port infrastructure and injured one person.

In the Danube river area, 12 drones were shot down and three people were injured during the second and third waves, according to Kiper.

On Saturday, Romania's Ministry of National Defense stated that Russia conducted drone attacks on Ukraine's river ports of Ismail and Reni, which are close to the Romanian border.

An F-16 jet from the Turkish Air Force was deployed from a Romanian airbase at 1:15 a.m. local time to conduct reconnaissance missions in national airspace and monitor the situation. Residents in two neighboring counties received text alerts.

Several times, drone debris has been found on Romania's territory after sustained attacks on Ukraine's port infrastructure, as Moscow tried to disrupt Kyiv's ability to export grain and other produce to global markets.
