Workplace expert advises asking these 3 questions during job interviews.
To determine if a company has a desirable culture, ask three specific questions during a job interview, advises Marion Campan, an expert in corporate culture.
In a TED Talk in April, Intandid's founder, Campan, stated that the interview is significant because it aids in selecting the candidate as a future employee, but it also helps the candidate choose the employer as a future opportunity.
What are the characteristics of individuals who are promoted at Campan?
What are the merits that distinguish employees who receive promotions, according to Campan? She stated that promotion recipients are the best at their jobs and are role models that other workers look up to, representing the firm's culture.
The second question she recommends asking is: What are the company's core values? For Campan, a strong response will describe recent examples highlighting when staffers demonstrated those values.
It's crucial to understand how a company handles obstacles, even though a flawless corporate culture doesn't exist, according to Campan.
What was the last time you received feedback in this place?
It's not a good sign if an interviewer only receives feedback once a year in a performance review, Campan advised. Instead, look for responses that suggest a more frequent, possibly even daily, feedback loop.
By asking purposeful questions during an interview, you can distinguish yourself as a candidate and gain insight into your prospective workplace.
According to Nolan Church, a former Google recruiter and current CEO of FairComp, questions like "What is the common trait of your top performers?" and "What's the one thing you love most about the culture?" can reveal what a company values and what it would be like to work there.
"A very specific answer will lead to insights," Church told CNBC Make It in August.
