The American stealing the show at the Paris Olympics is Flavor Flav.

William Jonathan Drayton Jr., a 65-year-old performer, has been a prominent figure at the 2024 games through his collaboration with USA Water Polo.

The rapper from Public Enemy has taken on the role of "official hype man" for the women's team and can be seen wearing a water polo cap and a Team USA branded waterproof clock necklace while poolside during the team's matches.

Flavor Flav will make multiple appearances at USA Water Polo events and use his social media presence to help promote the sport and attract new audiences.

"In an interview with NBC Olympics, he stated that sponsoring a water polo team and aiding the girls was a significant accomplishment, even greater than winning a Grammy."

In May, the rapper first connected with the team after athlete Maggie Steffens shared on Instagram the great efforts her teammates have made to achieve their Olympic dreams in a less popular sport.

"My teammates are not only skilled athletes but also hold various professions such as teachers, business owners, coaches, physicians assistants, and more," she stated. "Little-known fact: most Olympians require a second job to sustain their pursuit of their dreams, including myself. Additionally, most teams depend on sponsors for travel, lodging, nutritional support, and other expenses to live in today's world."

Flavor Flav pledged his support to the team that has won gold in the Olympics for the past three years.

"As a girl dad and advocate for women's sports, I will personally sponsor you and provide whatever support you need. My manager is in touch with your agent, and I will use all my relationships and resources to help you even more. That's a FLAVOR FLAV promise."

Flavor Flav has not disclosed the amount of money he has given to the team, but he has promised that his support will be felt throughout Paris and beyond.

"Earlier this month, he told the Associated Press that he would become the biggest cheerleader in their life. He vowed to cheer on the team and lead them to a gold medal victory."
