During a job interview, it's important to remember that you are also evaluating the potential employer.

The interview presents an opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills and for you to understand the company's culture, team dynamics, and workload. Plan the questions you'll ask and incorporate them into the conversation or ask them at the end when the opportunity arises.

What are "humblebrag questions," and why does Dan Space recommend using them in HR?

They show you off and get your questions answered

A question that boasts while also expressing curiosity is known as a humblebrag.

In my previous roles, I encountered certain issues when implementing this approach. How are you addressing those challenges in your current position? Additionally, I recently discovered a new technology that has been successful in a similar job, and I was wondering if your company is considering implementing it as well. Specifically, I recall my experience at Spotify where I was able to achieve significant success using a similar approach.

"He says, "I love HR analytics and data," and in previous jobs had worked on building predictive models based on analyzing hiring and attrition patterns. "I said, 'Hey, we started to build some of these models at Electronic Arts," he says. "We got to about a 95% confidence rate for that. Do I have any opportunity to use something like that at Spotify?""

They want you to understand 'your place in this universe'

There are multiple benefits to asking this type of question.

When hiring managers evaluate potential candidates, they look for someone who can quickly adapt to the role without requiring extensive training, according to Space. Your attention to detail suggests that you comprehend your role in the grand scheme of things, he adds.

What sets you apart from others who may ask about success in the first 30 days of a new role is your ability to reflect on your own experience and apply your knowledge to this new situation.
