The ranking was established based on searches performed on HomeToGo.com from January 1, 2024, to April 30, 2024, with a check-in date between June 20, 2024, and September 22, 2024. Only destinations with a median price per night of less than $200 were taken into account.

A report found that 70% of Americans prioritize beach retreats, with coastal locations being their top choice for summer travel.

The most in-demand U.S. travel destination for summer 2024: Destin, Florida

Destin, Florida topped the list of the most in-demand summer destinations.

It saw a 29.86% rise in search year-over-year.

The Emerald Coast of Florida is known for its stunning emerald green water and pristine white beaches. Additionally, Destin is renowned as the "Luckiest Fishing Village in the World" due to its abundant fish species and direct access to the Gulf of Mexico.

In 2021, Okaloosa County welcomed 7.5 million visitors, a 30% increase from the previous year, resulting in a surge in tourist spending.
