If you're looking for a job that allows you to travel and work from anywhere in the world, you may want to consider a career in engineering or marketing. According to new research from FlexJobs, employers in these fields are increasingly committing to remote work arrangements.

By analyzing its database, FlexJobs has identified the most in-demand work-from-anywhere jobs companies are hiring for between June and November 2024.

All seven jobs on the list can be done remotely, either full-time or part-time, with no geographic limitations and no need for an office. According to Payscale, the average salaries for these jobs are as follows:

Engineering manager

Average salary: $121,560

DevOps engineer

Average salary: $107,143

Sales director

Average salary: $111,858

Product manager

Average salary: $80,593

Editor

Average salary: $60,783

Content writer

Average salary: $55,603

Graphic designer

Average salary: $51,663

In a remote job, employees are fully independent of location or time zone.

Fewer than 10% of the competitive jobs that account for only about 5% of all remote roles, according to FlexJobs, are entry-level.

In the past six months, some of the top companies hiring for work-from-anywhere jobs on the platform include Duolingo, Invisible Technologies, and the Wikimedia Foundation.

Work-from-anywhere jobs are increasingly available in marketing, writing, project management, and tech. Meanwhile, communications and bilingual-focused careers are experiencing growth and offering more opportunities.

Toni Frana, FlexJobs' lead career expert, advises that upskilling in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, data science, and analytics can help individuals stand out in a competitive job market, as stated in a CNBC Make It article.

Highlighting problem-solving and adaptation skills in your resume and cover letter can help you stand out when working on a remote team.

Employers are increasingly interested in workers with advanced skills, such as negotiation, resourcefulness, and problem-solving, for work-from-anywhere roles, according to Frana.
