McDonald's and Wendy's are offering promotions for National Cheeseburger Day: McDonald's is selling 50-cent double cheeseburgers, while Wendy's is giving them out for a penny.

For the second year in a row, the renowned fast food corporation is offering a discount on one of its most popular menu items on National Cheeseburger Day. On September 18th, customers will be able to purchase the chain's famous Double Cheeseburger for only 50 cents.
Customers who use the fast food chain's smartphone app can avail of a limited offer of one burger per customer.
At checkout, a discount will be automatically applied to users who take advantage of the National Cheeseburger Day promotion when they open the app.
McDonald's announced the return of its $5 Meal Deal, which includes a choice of McDouble or McChicken sandwich, four-piece McNuggets, small fries, and a soft drink, until December. The combo was released this summer amid slumping sales.
Fast food chains such as Taco Bell, Burger King, Wendy's, and Popeyes are also offering value combos that are competing with the offerings from the Golden Arches.
On National Cheeseburger Day, diners can get a 1-cent Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy's when they purchase another menu item through the chain's app or website.
Members of Burger King's Royal Perks rewards program will receive a free cheeseburger when they make a purchase of $1 or more.
