The 2024 Decoding Global Talent Report by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in collaboration with The Network and The Stepstone Group states that one in four professionals worldwide are actively seeking job opportunities abroad.

Despite economic and geopolitical concerns, an increasing number of individuals are seeking job opportunities abroad, according to a report.

The percentage of people who are actively mobile increased from 21% in 2020 to 23% in 2023, according to a global study based on over 150,000 survey respondents in 188 countries.

According to the report, the three most common reasons for relocating overseas among respondents are economic opportunities, career advancement, and the potential for a better quality of life.

Since 2014, London has consistently ranked first in the 2024 Decoding Global Talent report, which is the latest in a series that began 10 years ago.

According to the survey, 9% of the respondents expressed their willingness to relocate to London.

The report highlights the top factors contributing to the city's dominance, including English as the primary language, a diverse global network of talent, abundant financial opportunities, a welcoming and multicultural brand, and easy access to both Europe and the U.S.

In Asia, Singapore was the top destination and ranked 7th. The island-nation experienced the largest influx of talent from nearby countries, including Malaysia (30%), Thailand (22%), Indonesia (19%), Philippines (14%), and Hong Kong (13%).

The quality of job opportunities in Singapore attracted 74% of those willing to relocate to the island-nation.

A survey revealed that 57% of respondents considered Singapore's quality of life, income, tax, and cost of living when choosing to live in Singapore. Additionally, more than half (55%) of the respondents cited safety, stability, and security as factors that influenced their decision to make Singapore their top destination for work.
