If you can answer 'yes' to these 6 questions, you're more successful than you think, then you're more successful than you think.
Could you imagine that achieving success begins with recognizing your own accomplishments?
Before making any changes, additions, or subtractions, take some time to appreciate.
True success encompasses more than just financial gains, job titles, and achievements; it's about the life you've built and the person you've become.
My recent book, "The Mentally Strong Leader," discusses the holistic view of success that involves resilience, confidence, and other mental strength aspects.
To determine your level of success, consider answering the following six questions beyond the typical "how much" and "how high" metrics.
1. Do you live your values?
Your daily actions reflect your true character, leaving a lasting impact on others. The question is: Do you align your behavior with your values? For instance, if compassion is a core value, do you consistently show kindness, even when it's challenging?
Intentionally living your values is a sign of both centering and discipline, which are both forms of success. However, this is not an easy task as it requires clearly defining your values and consistently following them.
The book "The Mentally Strong Leader" has an exercise to help you articulate your values.
2. Are you working on your life?
Sometimes, despite working hard, we become stuck in outdated routines, systems, or processes that no longer benefit us or others.
Greater success comes from working on your life, too.
Are you taking breaks to visualize the life and person you truly desire, and assessing if you're on the right path towards achieving them?
By identifying unhelpful patterns and habits, you can give yourself the opportunity to break them.
3. Do you appreciate what you already have?
While the Rolling Stones lamented that "You can't always get what you want," focusing on what you have can lead to happiness and success.
It's easy to feel like what you have is never enough and always be seeking the next rung of the ladder to climb, as I have experienced myself and I assume you have as well.
Consistently expressing gratitude for what you have accomplished is a crucial characteristic of successful individuals.
4. Do you have a growth mindset?
To achieve success, you will inevitably encounter errors. The crucial aspect is how you respond.
Do you view mistakes as opportunities for growth and adaptation, or do they discourage you and define your success?
Are you working to be prepared for opportunities when they arise?
The key to true success is to develop a passion for the journey of growth and improvement, rather than solely focusing on the end result.
Paying attention to the small details can lead to big successes.

In her new memoir, Ina Garten emphasizes the importance of being prepared for opportunities when they arise.
Are you working towards accomplishing your objectives, rather than those of others?
Recently, a friend of mine confided in me that she felt like a failure because she didn't get the promotion she desired. However, when I encouraged her to clarify what success truly meant to her, she realized that the promotion was not the defining factor.
She had fallen into the trap of believing that success meant having a team to coach and nurture, something she could accomplish in her current role.
Discovering your own definition of success can reveal how successful you already are, even when others' definitions don't align with your own.
