The World Economic Forum predicts that millions of jobs could be created or eliminated in the next decade due to artificial intelligence.

Mark Cuban advises that to handle changes and new job demands, one must be inquisitive, flexible, and adaptable.

"The billionaire entrepreneur and investor admits to CNBC Make It that they cannot predict the future of AI and its impact on the job market with certainty, but they plan to remain attentive, agile, curious, and adaptable."

Across various industries, adaptability is a highly sought-after soft skill, as stated in a Feb. 2024 report from LinkedIn.

The post-pandemic workforce has led to the need for flexible and resilient employees in the workplace, as a result of the rise of AI, remote and hybrid work, and the presence of five generations with different communication styles and workplace jargon.

Building adaptability is crucial for managing change, according to Aneesh Raman, LinedIn's chief economic opportunity officer. He emphasizes that adaptability is the key to having agency in today's fast-changing world.

Joseph Fuller, a professor at Harvard Business School, recently told CNBC that "it's a skill that can be rare to find." He emphasized that people are often afraid to try new things and fail, but that growth requires stepping outside of one's comfort zone.

Developing these three soft skills - curiosity, agility, and adaptability - will always benefit your career, Cuban emphasizes.

"The required skills for a job will remain constant, regardless of the time frame, whether it's 10 years or 100 years in the future," he asserts.

Another effective method to cultivate your curiosity is to delve into a subject that you are not well-versed in, as advised by Barbara Pécherot, a professor at Arizona State University's Thunderbird School of Global Management in 2022. Enhancing your curiosity abilities will aid you in devising more robust solutions to work-related issues more quickly, she emphasized.

To improve agility, Pécherot recommends tracking daily activities and time spent on each task to identify areas for refinement in your routine.

"Perhaps you squander time by not taking detailed notes during meetings or by overloading your schedule in the morning, resulting in decreased productivity in the afternoon," she stated. "View these as chances to enhance and implement modifications."
