What do you do next when you've starred in a billion dollar movie with Tom Cruise and revived the theatrical romantic comedy with Sydney Sweeney?

For Glen Powell, the answer is simple: go back to school.

Powell is currently promoting his latest film "Twisters" and shooting director Edgar Wright's remake of 1987's "The Running Man," while also making time to finally earn his degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Powell, who attended his hometown University as a teenager, dropped out to pursue his dream of making it in Hollywood. Despite not graduating initially, he has taken classes to earn the necessary credits. His career took off, causing a delay in his graduation plans, which were originally set for this past spring.

In May, he told the Hollywood Reporter that he had been repeatedly informing his friends about his plans to host the century's greatest grad party.

Powell is now fitting classes into his schedule as he prepares to shoot his newest movie in London.

In an interview with IndieWire this week, Edgar Wright stated that he has been very accommodating about allowing me to complete my degree amidst his busy filmmaking schedule.

"Powell stated that he would not be attending regular classes with other students but would be returning for proctored exams. He would be utilizing distance learning to figure things out and would be Zooming in for classes and other activities."

Before he could walk, Powell learned the "Hook 'em Horns" gesture at UT Austin.

"Despite my location anywhere globally, I have always made it a point to watch Texas-OU games," he stated. "My grandparents met here. Both my parents are Longhorns. My sister is a Longhorn. My cousins are also Longhorns."

Despite being close to earning his UT degree, Powell won't let his newfound fame in Hollywood prevent him from becoming a UT alumnus.

"He stated to THR that it's highly significant to his mother and it's a deeply emotional matter for him. Additionally, he added, "I'm so close, I can almost taste it.""
