Despite being ordered to return to offices for two, three, or even five days a week, many employees continue to seek the flexibility that comes with remote work.

According to Jobseeker, there are currently 800 million individuals globally searching for employment outside of their current location.

The online job searching tool analyzed social trend data from September to determine the countries where people worldwide desire to work if they could relocate.

The jobseeker utilized resources such as the World Population Review and U.S. News and World Report to establish the ranking of countries.

Career expert Reyhaneh Mansouri of Jobseeker reveals to CNBC Make It that people are seeking flexibility, remote work options, and a way to achieve work-life balance while maintaining a high quality of life.

In 2024, the demand for job opportunities in Switzerland is expected to increase by 315%, making it the fastest-growing trend in the U.S. Meanwhile, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, and Japan are the top countries where job seekers want to relocate to the U.S. for work.

In Canada, employees benefit from shorter working hours, interesting vacation policies and a culture prioritizing work-life balance," Mansouri says. "This is a key attraction for professionals seeking a healthier and more sustainable work environment.

Canada ranks second globally in size and excels in various aspects of quality of life, including income, employment, education, health, environment, social connections, and life satisfaction, as per the OECD Better Life Index.

Among adults aged 25-64, 92% have completed upper secondary education while 70% of people aged 16 to 64 have a paid job.
