At 15, Keke Palmer became a breadwinner by earning $40,000 per show on Nickelodeon.

From a young age, Keke Palmer recognized that she was the primary source of income for her family.

Palmer, who broke into showbusiness as a tween, realized she was out-earning her parents when she landed her own show, Nickelodeon's "True Jackson, VP" in 2008.

"Palmer stated on "Club Shay Shay" that his parents, at their peak, earned $40,000 annually. He added, "I was making that amount on a TV show.""

Even though Palmer was responsible for her family's finances at the age of 31, she expressed no resentment. In fact, when her parents gave her sister a monthly allowance from the money Palmer was earning, she stated that she was content with sharing.

""Although someone may argue, 'That's your money,' we're a family, and everyone is making sacrifices for me to achieve my dreams. My dad gave up his pension, and my mom gave up everything to travel with me," she stated."

"I would sacrifice 20 more years of my life working in this industry to provide and have the business we have today," she continued. "What's mine is theirs and what's theirs is mine."

Palmer stated that she wore the responsibility of providing for her family "like armor." She also mentioned that she trusted her parents to have her best interests at heart because they got her a business manager when she was only 12 years old.

""My mom stated that she didn't want money to create a rift between her and her child," she said."

Palmer was willing to make any sacrifices to provide opportunities for her family with her income.

"We were able to accomplish tasks that we couldn't previously do," she remarks. "While I wasn't the only one who made sacrifices, a significant portion of it was my responsibility."
