An October survey from Condé Nast Traveler showed that 47% of people are interested in going on a cruise vacation.

The Cruise Lines International Association conducted a study which revealed that cruise travel is rapidly expanding as a popular form of tourism.

In October, U.S. News and World Report released its 2023 list of the best value cruises, ranking the top ships among 17 popular ocean cruise lines and assigning them a rating of one to five.

Based on these factors, U.S. News and World Report ranked the cruise lines.

Virgin Voyages is worth the money, travelers say

Richard Branson's Virgin Voyages was named the top cruise line for value.

Virgin Voyages' fleet consists of three ships, with a fourth set to debut in 2024. The cruise line offers free Wi-Fi access, over 20 dining venues, unlimited group workouts, and all essential drinks, including sodas, drip coffee, water, and more.

Nearly identical ships with similar layouts are offered by Virgin Voyage, according to U.S. News and World Report. The cruise line provides sailings to the Caribbean, Europe, and the South Pacific, with ports in Miami, Puerto Rico, Spain, and more.

According to Bloomberg, rates start at $1,550 per double-occupancy cabin.

According to travelers, Celebrity Cruises is the second-best cruise line that provides value for money, with an overall rating of 4.36.

According to the report, each of the 16 ships on the line carries approximately one crew member for every two passengers and stops in Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and other destinations.

From three to 18 nights, voyages are available. Since late 2020, Celebrity Cruises has included free Wi-Fi, unlimited drinks, and daily gratuities in its base fare.

The third-ranked cruise line in terms of money is Princess Cruises, with an overall rating of 4.02.

The fifth largest cruise line globally, with 17 vessels and trips ranging from two to 116 days, offers journeys to popular European, Caribbean, Alaska, and other destinations.

According to the report, Princess Cruises has a crew-to-passenger ratio of approximately one crew member for every two or three passengers.

Princess Cruises honors its Hollywood roots with diverse itineraries, including "Movies Under the Stars" and adaptations of popular TV shows like "The Voice" and "Deal or No Deal."
