Additional Trump sealed files made public in Jack Smith's Jan. 6 election investigation

On Friday, a federal judge ordered the release of over 1,800 pages of documents submitted by special counsel Jack Smith in the criminal election interference case against former President Donald Trump.
After U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan rejected Trump's lawyers' request to keep the records sealed until after the Nov. 5 presidential election, the records were made public.
Many of the individual files remain redacted, however.
President Joe Biden won the 2020 election, but Trump is accused of illegally conspiring to overturn the results.
Trump's case against Smith has been delayed due to a Supreme Court ruling that narrowed the evidence that can be used against him.
The court determined that Trump is entitled to "presumptive immunity" for official actions committed during his presidency and has "absolute immunity" for specific executive duties.
