The cost of housing and the amount of space one gets for their money are higher in major U.S. cities. With the rise of remote work due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many workers have started to question whether living in major metropolises like New York and San Francisco is worth it.

While some companies still require in-office work, many offer hybrid or fully-remote options, according to Vicki Salemi, a career expert at Monster. She advises job seekers to utilize this flexibility and broaden their search.

Salemi stated that they can seek employment opportunities beyond the limitations of a specific zip code based on the quality and quantity.

Working remotely can be a great option for both recent college graduates and those seeking a change of scenery, as it allows you to keep costs low while still having a job.
