Global talent is being targeted by NBA All-Star Danny Ainge with scouts stationed worldwide.
The Utah Jazz is casting its net wide for international players.
Danny Ainge, the team's CEO and governor, stated on CNBC's "Halftime Report" that they have scouts in almost every basketball country worldwide.
The NBA champion and All-Star emphasized the presence of scouts in various regions globally, including South America, Europe, Asia, and all areas of the U.S.
He stated that it's a global sport and we need to locate them all.
The NBA announced in October that a record 125 international players, including five on the Utah Jazz, were on opening-night rosters for the 2023-24 season. These players came from 40 countries and territories across six continents, with a record of 26 from Canada and 14 from France.
All 30 NBA teams feature at least one international player this season.
StubHub reports a 120% increase in international ticket sales from the previous season, with fans traveling from 92 countries to North American games, an increase from 68 countries last season.
In December 2021, Ainge left his position as head of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics and took on the role of CEO for the Utah Jazz.
The value of the Utah Jazz is currently $3.09 billion, up 52.59% from last year and 76.57% since the year Ainge joined the team, according to Statista's data.
