CNBC's Jim Cramer discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on the world, reflecting on the year gone by.

Cramer stated on his Thursday show that while generative AI has its limitations, it excels at what it can do, surpassing human capabilities, except perhaps for individuals like Einstein, Beethoven, Oppenheimer, and Mozart.

Cramer queried ChatGPT and Bard from OpenAI and Google, respectively, about the various applications of generative AI.

Generative AI technology has gained popularity for its ability to create art, including music and photorealistic images. Additionally, it can analyze large data sets to identify potential treatments for medical problems that have yet to be solved. Furthermore, it can enhance productivity and serve a variety of other purposes.

Cramer stated that generative artificial intelligence has the capability to accomplish anything we desire, and if we do not request it, another company will do it faster and more efficiently, resulting in the competitor obtaining the solution before we can arrive at it. As a result, everyone is purchasing this technology.

Cramer highlighted some concerns about the technology, while acknowledging his own academic achievements. He earned a Summa Cum Laude on his Harvard general exams through rigorous study, but he believed Bard could have surpassed him.

The potential of generative AI is not what limits its applications, according to Cramer.

"Due to the incredible capabilities of AI, there may be a shortage of semiconductors to fulfill all the demands because it's challenging to imagine anything beyond what these two programs can achieve," Cramer stated.
