Nescafé, a Swiss-based food giant, was the largest coffee segment in the US last year, with over 1.3 billion cups consumed. Similarly, Nescafé is the most popular coffee brand worldwide, with sales in over 180 countries and one in seven cups of coffee consumed globally being a Nescafé cup.
The Inter-American Development Bank reports that high labor costs and rising temperatures pose challenges to the company's farmers, potentially reducing the suitable area for growing coffee by 50%.
Nescafé collaborates with over 100,000 farmers, purchases more than 13 million bags of green coffee yearly, and operates 24 factories worldwide.
