The New York Liberty secures a jersey patch deal with Barclays as the WNBA's popularity continues to rise.
  • The New York Liberty has partnered with Barclays, resulting in the bank's logo being featured on the team's jersey during the current WNBA season.
  • The Liberty have experienced growth in attendance, sponsorship, and viewership since their move to Brooklyn and the addition of top talent such as Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart.

The New York Liberty has signed a multi-year deal with the latest big corporation, which will have its logo appear on the team's jersey.

Keia Clarke, CEO of New York Liberty, who was recently named to the CNBC Changemakers list, stated that the team has experienced a surge in interest from corporate partners. In the previous year, the team's partner roster more than doubled, resulting in a 35% increase in sponsorship revenue. Additionally, 12 of the team's new partners last season were first-time WNBA partners.

"We have been having discussions with brands interested in activating in the women's sports space, highlighting the growing interest in not just the Liberty, but women's sports as a whole," Clarke stated. "As we prepare for our upcoming 2024 season and our pursuit of our first-ever WNBA championship, we are thrilled to explore authentic opportunities with brands looking to motivate and connect with the next generation of women's sports fans. Our partnership with Barclays is a testament to this."
