The new luxury sleeper train in England and Wales: A trip's cost revealed.
A luxury sleeper train will be launched by Belmond next year, providing travelers with a journey through the English and Welsh countryside.
The Britannic Explorer will offer three different itineraries: one to the southwestern county of Cornwall, another to the north through the Lake District of Cumbria, and the third through the country of Wales.
Travelers can combine two journeys into one trip by choosing from the England routes operating on weekends (Fridays to Mondays) or the Wales route during the week (Monday to Thursday), all trips starting from London and lasting three nights.
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and Asia's Eastern & Oriental Express are among the luxury hotels operated by Belmond worldwide.
According to a company representative, the cost for a three-night trip for one person is £5,800 ($7,460), which covers excursions, meals, and beverages, including alcohol.
The new train is set to launch in July 2025.
Gallery tours and 'wild swimming'
The train consists of 18 passenger cabins, including 15 suites and 3 "Grand Suites," as well as bar and restaurant cars and a "wellness suite."
Simon Rogan, a renowned British chef and leader of Cumbria's three-Michelin-starred L'Enclume restaurant, designed the menu. The menu will feature seasonal and sustainable ingredients sourced from throughout the UK, as per Belmond.
The company stated that travelers will stop during the day to visit national parks, go on guided hikes, and engage in "wild swimming" in the Lake District.
The journey to England's Lake District passes through the picturesque Cotswolds countryside and stops at the renowned Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, a two-Michelin-starred hotel and restaurant located near Oxford.
