The promoter of the fight, Most Valuable Promotions, which is owned by Paul, expects more than 70,000 people to attend the Friday night bout at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which has a seating capacity of 80,000.
The promoter stated that the gate receipts generated $17.8 million in revenue.
The 2021 fight between Canelo Álvarez and Billy Joe Saunders at AT&T Stadium generated $9 million in gate receipts, surpassing the previous record of $9 million.
The gate for the UFC fight in Las Vegas was higher than any other non-Las Vegas UFC fight, except for Conor McGregor versus Eddie Alvarez in New York City in 2016.
On Friday at 8 p.m. ET on Netflix, a fight between a 27-year-old YouTube influencer-turned-boxer and a 58-year-old boxing legend will be shown, and it will be free for subscribers.
One of the most anticipated women's boxing rematches in history will be featured at the event, with undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor facing off against unified featherweight champion Amanda Serrano.
Netflix has over 283 million paid subscriptions in more than 190 countries, and the upcoming boxing match will be a test for the streaming service as it expands further into the sports industry and moves away from the pay-per-view model.

StubHub offers tickets for the fight on Friday ranging from approximately $58 to $1,500. Additionally, MVP has sold exclusive VIP packages, including a $2 million experience that includes ringside seats. The promotions company reports that its 375 VIP seats have been sold out.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the 2015 fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao generated over $72 million in ticket sales.
