U.S. defense spending and military aid costs are adding up.

In April, President Biden signed a $95 billion U.S. military aid package, which allocated funding to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and the Indo-Pacific region. Additionally, the National Defense Authorization Act of 2024 authorized a record $886 billion in military spending.

A substantial portion of that funds will be used to strengthen the American defense sector.

In fiscal year 2022, the five largest U.S. defense companies — Boeing, Raytheon Technologies, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman — received more than $118 billion in Department of Defense contracts, as per the Congressional Research Service.
