Stellantis welcomes back former Dodge, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis.
- Stellantis executive Tim Kuniskis had left the automaker earlier this year.
Tim Kuniskis, a well-known executive, is returning to the automaker immediately, according to CNBC's report.
Earlier this year, Kuniskis left the automaker and now he will once again lead the company's Ram Truck brand, according to two sources familiar with the decision. The sources, who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity to discuss the move, said the company's leadership team alerted employees of the decision earlier Monday.
A week after Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares resigned unexpectedly, his return was announced.
Dodge's high-performance Hellcat models are the brainchild of Kuniskis, who has led several of the carmaker's brands in North America. He is also known as the "father" of Dodge's high-performance models and "the unofficial spokesman" for American muscle cars.
Under Dodge's leadership, the brand reaffirmed its status as an iconic American muscle car brand through models such as the 700+ horsepower Challenger and Charger Hellcat, as well as the divisive Challenger Demon drag race cars.
